Burning Regulations and Permits Burning Regulations are in now effect and Burn Permits are required.  You can get further information and obtain a free permit from Fire Wardens George & Barb Zima (479-4669), the DNR Ranger Station adjacent to the County Highway Dept. (479-4771) or at Knitts Hardware in St. Germain. Even with a permit, before you burn, you are required to either call 888-947-2876 (Vilas Co. is #64) or log onto the DNR Burn Conditions website to see if any emergency bans have been imposed.

Built in 1923, the Perch Lake school also served as the community meeting place.  The 1925 class had 8 students, including former town constable Joe Casey.  Dr. Francine Gough was in the last class of 1947.  It has served as the Cloverland Town Hall since that time.  The town hall is located at 5851 Perch Lake Rd at the intersection with Oak Lane.
