RESOLUTION 2009-01 AIS Grant Application Town of Cloverland WHEREAS:
the lakes of Vilas County are important resources
used by the public for recreation and enjoyment of natural beauty; and WHEREAS:
the Cloverland Town Lakes Committee was created to
establish and coordinate a proactive approach to the prevention and
management of exotic aquatic invasive species in the Town’s lakes; and WHEREAS:
the town recognizes the need for responsible and
holistic planning to better manage the Town’s lakes; and WHEREAS:
we are qualified to carry out the responsibilities of
this project; IT
IS THEREFORE RESOLVED THAT: The Town of Cloverland Lakes Committee
requests the funds and assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Natural
Resources under the Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Control Grant Program;
and HEREBY
AUTHORIZES Martin Ketterer to act on behalf of the
Town of Cloverland Lakes Committee to submit an application to the State
of Wisconsin for financial aid for lake planning purposes, sign documents,
and take necessary action to undertake, direct and complete an approved
AIS Control Grant. BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Town of Cloverland Lakes
Committee will meet the obligations of the AIS Control Grant including
timely publication of the results and meet the financial obligations under
this grant including prompt payment of our 25% commitment to AIS Control
project costs. We understand the importance of a
continuing management program for the lakes in Cloverland and intend to
proceed on that course. Adopted this 19th day of
