RESOLUTION NUMBER 2011-03 The Town Board of the Town of Cloverland
pursuant to its authority under Section 60.23 Wis. Statutes does hereby
rescind resolution entitled Creation of a Cloverland Lakes Committee dated
August 6, 2005 and replaces it with the following. RESOLUTION FOR THE CREATION OF A CLOVERLAND LAKES
CITIZENS COMMITTEE WHEREAS
the lakes in Cloverland are important resources used by the public for
recreation and enjoyment of natural beauty; and WHEREAS
invasive exotic life forms are entering lakes throughout Vilas County
resulting in deterioration of the recreational value of lakes and
reduction in the quality of lakes fisheries; and WHEREAS
severe cases of invasive species infestations have the potential of
reducing property values in the general vicinity of infested lakes; and WHEREAS
this Board of Supervisors recognizes its responsibility to property owners
to help protect and preserve area lakes; and IT
IS THEREFORE
RESOLVED THAT: A “Town Lakes Citizens
Committee” for the purpose of developing programs to assist town lake
organizations in the responsible and holistic long range management of
town lakes and to participate in the Vilas County Aquatic Invasive Species
Planning Partnership shall be created as a citizens volunteer committee. BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT: The chairperson of the
Cloverland Lakes Citizens Committee shall be determined in the same manner
as, and shall have responsibilities for the committee similar to other
volunteer committees. BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT: The Cloverland Town Lakes
Citizens Committee shall consist of volunteer members from participating
lake organizations and other interested parties. BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT: Any number of individuals,
members or groups that attend a meeting shall constitute a quorum.
