Resolution
2008 – 05 Landfill Study WHEREAS,
the town of Cloverland, Vilas County, Wisconsin is a signatory to, and
member of, the Landfill Venture Group, which said Landfill Venture Group
is an intergovernmental cooperation commission formed and authorized under
the provisions then 66.30
Wis. Stats; and WHEREAS,
the purpose of the Landfill Venture Group is to operate a solid waste
disposal facility consisting of a landfill, various associated buildings
and equipment related to said facility; and WHEREAS,
pursuant to said agreement a commission was formed consisting of various
individuals from the member municipalities to govern the operation of the
facility; and WHEREAS,
the commission has determined that the capacity of the landfill is dose to
exhaustion and additional facilities, including land and or buildings are
necessary to continue to operate the facility; and WHEREAS,
the State of Wisconsin, Department of Natural Resources, has advised the
commission that it is necessary to conduct a feasibility study directed
toward the expansion of the landfill facility before such construction is
permitted, the cost of which will be approximately $160,000.00; the
municipality members of the Landfill Venture Group have agreed to share
the cost of such a study based on equalized assessed evaluation of the
members. NOW, THEREFORE; IT IS HEREBY
RESOLVED the town of
Cloverland, Vilas County, Wisconsin agrees to place a sum, in Its 2009
budget, equal to its equalized assessed value share of the cost of the
feasibility study as set forth herein, and appropriate said amount to the
Landfill Venture Group for its share of such feasibility study. The
equalized value of all member municipalities is attached hereto and made a
part of this resolution. Dated this 1st
