Be part of CLASS and earn In-kind hours
The Town of Cloverland is responsible for 25 percent of our AIS grant. We will fulfill that obligation through your attendance at various training sessions and meetings, and your participation in a range of important activities.
Here are all the things you can do:
- Join the corps of Clean Boat Clean Waters landing monitors
For training and scheduling contact Justine White-Richards at 715-479-1187 or one of these lake contacts:
-
Boot Lake - Roger Gerds, 715-479-3586
-
Muskellunge Lake - John Kurhajec, 262-878-4404
-
Pickerel Lake - Chuck Spitz, 715-367-8025, chuck.spitz@yahoo.com
-
Snipe Lake - Noel Junkunc, 715-479-0020, njunkunc@nnex.net
- Help prepare various mailings
- Prepare snacks for various meetings, handle other food needs
- Become a water quality monitor for your lake or do plant sampling. Training required for both of these. We hope to get someone from every lake trained in these important areas. This summer’s training sessions are completed, but watch for other training opportunities next summer.
- Sign on to provide transportation to help folks get to meetings, events, etc.
- Join a pool of folks who just want to be available when help is needed.
Get credit for every minute and every mile!
To be sure you get full credit for everything you do, you will need to document all your time carefully. In addition, document driving time and miles driven from and to your Cloverland residence when you take part in training sessions, meetings or other CLASS-related events and activities. These also will count towards In-kind hours.
Use the Individual Volunteer Work Log* to document your involvement. Enter, in minutes, the total time used for any volunteer work you perform, lake association meetings you attend, or other activities related to CLASS. Also enter total mileage to and from your Cloverland residence to those activity sites.
If you are not sure if your entry will qualify, put it down anyway. I will determine whether it qualifies or not.
Please send your Log in to me at the end of each month, or give it to your lake volunteer coordinator or representative. My contact information is below and at the bottom of the log sheet.
We appreciate all the time and effort being put in by you and other CLASS volunteers. We are all benefitting from your work, and so are the lakes of the Town of Cloverland.
