In the Town of Cloverland, we are proud of our

lakes and proud of the people who live on them, vacation on them, and take care of them. This web site is all about how people are working as a community to keep our lakes healthy and vital. We welcome anyone who wants to know more and do more about that.

Three years ago: A few Town Lake Committee members had an idea to help Boot Lake address its EWM infestation

2011: CLASS is wrapping up: lake surveys have all been done, townwide lake management goals are in place, 20 town lakes will be getting their own management plans from Onterra, LLC this spring, and…

Now what?? Important lake things: monitoring, awareness, community effort -- All are in our individual hands now. Which is good. Right?

Living in a post- CLASS world

Well, each of us lake property owners knows how much we value our own lakes, so it is good that care of our lakes is in our hands.

But let’s not overlook the power of us all working together. Coordinated community effort brought us the benefits of CLASS -- $200,000 of top quality lake assessment for 21 of our town lakes -- and nothing paid out of our pockets or the Town’s treasury.

The Lakes Committee is ready to keep that coordinated community effort happening. Its plans are all about that. And about the key factor behind the success of CLASS, Cloverland property owners.

Cloverland and its lakes

At nine in the morning on February 9 the Town Lake Committee will have its first meeting of 2011. The outcomes of CLASS will be the launching pad for this year’s work.
