In the Town of Cloverland, we are proud of our

lakes and proud of the people who live on them and vacation on them. This web site is all about how people are working as a community to keep our

lakes healthy and vital. We welcome anyone who wants to know more and do more about that.

2010 is the payoff year for CLASS

This summer will feature more workshops and training opportunities and two big CLASS events.

Attendees will review the first draft of their lake management plan with Tim Hoyman of Onterra at the Planning Committee Meetings coming up in April. It is very important that each CLASS lake has a representative at either the April 19 or 24 meeting. Each meeting will go from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Town Hall. A light lunch will be served.

The CLASS Wrap Up Meeting on July 10 will be a gala celebration of the project. Each lake will receive its final management plan, and Onterra will provide a summation of the findings and advice on how to make the best use of the management plans. Everyone, including the general public, is invited to see what we have all gained by the work done to make CLASS happen, and to see how those benefits will pay off in the future.

Last summer over 300 folks got better equipped to help their lakes. Now we need to build on that success.

We had great turnouts at sessions in 2009 that covered Clean Boats, Clean Waters monitoring, aquatic plant identification, secchi disk readings, shoreline restoration, septic systems, forming lake associations, and more.
